It’s been a busy month for members of Te Awarua-o-Porirua Whaitua Committee. On hearing that the process is entering the final stages, Alison Balance from Our Changing World, Radio New Zealand, joined a field trip led by Committee chair, Stu Farrant and Committee member, Warrick Lyon. Greater Wellington Regional Council staff Megan Oliver, Paula Hammond, and Mark Heath also joined the wander, to discuss “from hills to sea – a community thinks about freshwater”. The article and interview highlight the depth of detail and complexity facing the Committee, as they strive to write the first community-led land and water plan located in an urban setting.
